bad internet connection?

hey guys i got a problem. i have a wireless linksys g router. its the one with the 4 ports in the back of it. i have cable internet running to it. that is by my dads computer, which is downstairs and about 2 rooms away. total, my computer is about 25 feet away from this.

AT LEAST once per half hour i get kicked off for no reason. the phone doesnt ring...nothing. i have no idea why this does this....can anyone help me??

is the wireless connection you have password protected? what type of encryption does it use? what type of router is on your dad's computer?

it is password protected, not sure about the encryption...and its a linksys wireless g router.
