Maphraekuda

Maphraekuda

It is a hot day and the sun is shining brightly over the forest. There isn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t a cloud in the sky to shade the forest that once teemed with life below. It hasn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t rained for some time and the ground is dry with the grass beginning to turn a withering brown. Maphraekuda is busy toiling in his garden, attempting to save his plants from the drought that would undoubtedly spell death for his garden. Maphraekuda loved gardening; it was a favorite pastime of his. It was all he had to do since his days in the army. It kept his thoughts off of the army as well. He felt that the kings and emperors he had commanded troops for had taken advantage of him, that they had used him. After a while he was just tired of it all. He wanted nothing to do with nations, their leaders, strategy, wizardry, combat, or anything of that nature. Maph finished digging up the dead trees and then began watering the live ones. He wiped some sweat off his brow and continued working. He took his cloak off and through it aside. The sunlight gleamed from the sweat dripping from his muscular chest. He finished watering his acai berry trees and went inside his cottage for a drink. The cottage was a small, cozy structure. Maphraekuda had built it himself in a very secluded clearing in the ancient wood. He knew that the ones he had once fought for would come looking for him to force him out of his retirement, so he built it in the most isolated, least known place he could find. Now, no one could bother him. Or so he thought.

Maphraekuda fixed himself an alcoholic beverage and relaxed in his bed in the one room cottage. He downed the whole bottle of rum and laid back to rest. Just then he heard a noise. It came from outside. Suddenly alert he went over to the window and peered out. Nothing. Must be an animal he thought. He turned to go back to bed when he saw a dark figure pass the window at the corner of his eye. That was no animal. But how could that be? No one knew he was out here. He went to his weapons rack and removed a custom made adamite long sword from the wooden holder. It was unique in that its sharp edge and tip was made from rune metal which was blended into the adamite giving it a strange blue-green color. Maph went outside, cautiously scoping the area for the intruder, looking into the forest for any signs of movement. He listened intently, walking around the house, carefully making his way around the corners and keeping his footfalls silent. The sound of a stick breaking and the gentle crunching of gravel sounded just around the next corner. There you are, he thought. Maph waited a brief moment and then sprang into action. He wheeled around the corner and drove the hilt of his sword into the man̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s forehead. The intruder fell to the ground unconscious. He grabbed the man by the feet and dragged him into the cottage.

After putting the sword back on the rack, Maphraekuda went to the cupboard and grabbed a length of rope. He pulled a steel knife from the table in the center of the room. He cut the rope into shorter lengths and used these to tie the man̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s hands and feet. He then went outside and filled a pale with spring water. He went back inside and poured some of the water on the man̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s face. The man awoke coughing and groaning. ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅWho are you?̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

Great start, good story and nice and descriptive. The only thing I can tell you to improve on is your sentence starts. You use the same words to start your sentences over and over again, try to jumble it up a little more. Other than that great job =D>
