A sig is information not an item. It's been asked before so this post is simply spam.

first time i've heard it... i saw a post from one of the mods or whatever somewhere that its legal... but yeah...

It was comfirmed that its perfectly legal. Some guys contacted Jagex and asked, they said it was OK.
