I'd like to clear up any rumors pertaining to our recent downtime for the forums.

 

 

 

The forum database was NOT accessed or compromised in any way, shape, or form.

 

 

 

There was a slight hole in a script on one of our other servers that allowed a user to view the MD5 password hash of staff accounts for another section of the site. Unfortunately some of these passwords were weak and used in both places. That in turn allowed access to their forum account.

 

 

 

 

 

That hole has been closed and all accounts involved have also been taken care of.

 

 

 

 

 

Thanks for your patience in this matter and we apologize for the downtime.
