One idea is like the Blades of Chaos from God of War, the two blades attached to chains. Weapons like this would be cool because they could do damage based on range/strength, and stuff liek that. All you have said is that the god of war blades of chaos are cool, but not really shown how something like this could be implemented into runescape. By the way, salamanders require magic, strength and ranged levels and give you exp to either one of them depending on your attack style.
