Yes, sometimes he will teleport you instead of giving you a gift.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I hope one day you can get mime's without having to fight :(

While training defence at basilisks i just got maze AND mime within 30 minutes, got boots and top =)

when the old man teleports you too maze is that a mime?
