Official RS client + sun java 1.5

Featured Replies

How do I make the official rs client use Sun java 1.5?

If I try the signed applet using sun java option, it asks to install Sun java 1.4.2, out of date and corrupted. Default option uses MS java.

IE settings (the client is IE based browser so IE settings should work, but the java settings don't work for some reason):

Java (Sun)

[X]Use JRE 1.5.0_02 for

Microsoft VM

[X]Java JIT compiler enabled

[ ]Java logging enabled

[ ]Java console enabled

IE uses Sun java, rs client uses MS java (with default java option and without lag)

The client still uses MS java but lags horribly when ms java is completely disabled.

Strange.

Uninstall Sun Java from Add/Remove Programs.

Untick all Java options in Internet Explorer.

Delete the folder c:\windows\.file_store_32.

Restart your computer completely, then reinstall Sun Java.

That didn't do anything, except unticking the ms java options makes lag horribly.
