help making counter strike video

Hi im trying to make a counter strike source video using a desktop recording program.

 

 

 

ATM im using camtasia but that is proving waaaay to laggy, making the game impossible to play whilst recording.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Can anyone suggest a better program for what im trying to do or a way to stop camtasia causing lag?.

use the steam forums. http://www.steampowered.com it has very elaborate details on how to make CS videos if you search there.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If you want to just record one, open the consol and type 'record NAME' then when your done recording type 'stop'

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

When you want to watch it, go in your consol and type 'play NAME'

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If you want to edit it and make it look like the professional CS vids you see on sites such as ownage.com and cs-flics.... then you will have to download something to use the .dem file created in the CS folder, and your going to have to get real good with a movie editor like Adobe Premiere or something...
