It's nice since your kind of new to pixeling but you can't just make a real darker colour and take up 25% of an area and say it's shaded really.

 

 

 

Try work on your characters and placement then you should find it easier after a while.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Try drawing in real life aswell, It helped me alot
