adam_ross0
I have a question involving Java. My sister still plays RS (I have no interest whatsoever in it), and we recently installed Thislinux distro on her computer. It's on mine, also. I checked, and for some reason, I cannot get Java to work properly on this distro. So, as an experiment, I want to see if theres a way I can enable Java in this distro. I'm using Bon Echo, a GTK version of Firefox 2.0, to try this. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks :)
Makoto_the_Phoenix
I've wanted to tinker with DSL for so long, but I've never got around to it :o Anyway, in direct answer to your question, try this: 1. Go to the Java website 2. Download the Linux self-extracting file (since you're on a Debian-based *nix OS, RPM will not help). 3. Follow the instructions provided. Make sure you have root access, or can promote yourself temporarily to superuser. Run into any problems, let me know; I'll be downloading DSL myself and messing around with it later...
