Help with Spyware/Virus

Featured Replies

Ok i have to tell you guys that I am basically a noob at computers  . I know what I need to know but other than that, I am lost. So recently while browsing sites, I believe i got some spyware/virus or some sort of add on on to my computer.

Well basically whenever I am searching something on a search engine, whenever i click on the search results, randomly the browser redirects me to a site named http://www.favorite.com (dont click).

Anybody share the same problem with me, or know how to solve this problem. Please tell me. I have tried scanning using AVG and Spybot, but nothing seems to work. Can anybody tell me if I am doing something wrong?

Well, you definitely have some form of malware on your computer. Try downloading Avast! Antivirus and running it. In addition. you should also download and run Ad-aware SE personal. Spybot catches a lot of things, but most people recommend you use both spybot and ad aware to catch everything. As far as AVG goes, I have always used Avast! so I cannot comment on its effectiveness. Whatever it is, these programs should take care of it.
