Say the chance of chewed bones is 1/32, then the chance of a large from chewed bones is also 1/32, that's 1/1024 chance of a single drop being chewed bones which leads to dragon large. Wouldn't surprise me if it was a 1/1024 chance of the drop itself from miths, but people think it's more common from chewed bones because it's conditional probability (Chance of a large given that you have the bones) which is simply 1/32, so I suppose technically it is more probable from chewed bones but...
