Computer restarting erratically Help plz

Featured Replies

Ok Im havin some problems, my computer restarts when at random while im on the internet. I think it could have to do with being inactive, but i dont know where to start. Ill be watching the thread, so if you have any questions or suggestions all will help.

Make sure you have no spyware or virii. Scan with your AV, adaware, and spybot while in safe mode (if you don't know how to get into safe mode, search the forums it has been stated many times)

After doing that, I would double check that your computer isn't over heating. To do this, either go into BIOS (not suggested if your not a techy person) or download mother board manager, which gives you specific information like what your Case temp is, your CPU temp, how fast your fans are spinning, ect...

If you don't want to do EITHER of those, take the side of your case off, and then let your computer run for a while. If it doesn't shut down anymore, it means that it's an over heating problem (since now the heat was able to escape)

In the case that it is the heating problem, just buy a few case fans for about $5 a piece at your local computer store, and toss them in your case (very easy to do if you just look at the other fans in there you will see how to do it, but if you can't just bring it to the computer store and they will probably do it for free in like 2 minutes)
