pedestrian01 Posted May 14, 2005 Share Posted May 14, 2005 Is your cd an offical copy? If its not it might not be bootable. If it is it could be damaged in some way. The may be an option when booting to enter the boot menu try going into that and selecting the cd rom. You may be able to go to http://www.bootdisk.com and download a xp bootdisk and put it on floppy disks. I think xp requires 6 disks. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
shapelessjet Posted May 15, 2005 Author Share Posted May 15, 2005 cd is a official copy. when i have any disc in the drive at start up it asks me if i want to boot from it, burnt discs, games, anything! except for windows xp office. have tried multiple copies of xp office but no matter what it wont see it at start up :(. help Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

zonda Posted May 21, 2005 Share Posted May 21, 2005 you might have to make sure it is booting up in the correct order by going into your BIOS, set the 1st device to be booted up as your DVD or CD drive Not 100% sure if this will actually solve it, but I know there has been times where I have had this problem and it has solved it, however on the other hand, there have been times I had this problem and it didn't solve it Good luck :wink: ...
