May 14, 200521 yr i am trying to reformat my computer to windows xp office my cd rom is my primary boot when i boot up my computer and put in the disc it continues booting up without asking to boot from cd~~ help please
May 14, 200521 yr Is your cd an offical copy? If its not it might not be bootable. If it is it could be damaged in some way. The may be an option when booting to enter the boot menu try going into that and selecting the cd rom. You may be able to go to http://www.bootdisk.com and download a xp bootdisk and put it on floppy disks. I think xp requires 6 disks.
May 15, 200521 yr Author cd is a official copy. when i have any disc in the drive at start up it asks me if i want to boot from it, burnt discs, games, anything! except for windows xp office. have tried multiple copies of xp office but no matter what it wont see it at start up :(. help
May 21, 200521 yr you might have to make sure it is booting up in the correct order by going into your BIOS, set the 1st device to be booted up as your DVD or CD drive Not 100% sure if this will actually solve it, but I know there has been times where I have had this problem and it has solved it, however on the other hand, there have been times I had this problem and it didn't solve it Good luck  ...
