I used to be a big fan of mage until i realized the actual loss of profit that was taking place, i would just like to know where mage and range are benificial eg.

 

Mage for Metal dragons, range for regular dragons. any other places where these can be used? i am looking for boss monster examples but others would be fine

The only real places where you can mage and not lose a lot is Metal Dragons, Barrows, and Daggonoth Kings. Ranging there's lots of places, such as Dragons and Avianses, and many others. As long as the monster has some decent drops, you should bne able to make a profit.
