microsoft word opening tabs and changing things without me

ok im using windows word 2003 my OS is windows xp, and i dont push anything and it starts to open tabs at the top of the page and change the screen so it changes the zooming so i see the page further out with the text on it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

this is a major problem as i cant type as it keeps opening these things and ive got 2 major assignments due on friday that i have to start.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

how can i fix this?

Do you mean tabs as in.. Firefox tabs? Or are you talking about the Task Pane, as that opens with word by default on 2003
