assassin_696
I live in the UK and currently run a Toshiba Satellite Pro Laptop computer, which is about 1 year old now. My computer from time to time switches itself off randomly without warning. I have thoroughly scanned my computer with Anti-virus software, anti-spyware software and run a firewall. I use a broadband internet connection. I have tried a complete system restore but still the problem persists. I now suspect that it is due to my computer overheating, since it only occurs while playing Runescape. But if so, can i alter the speed at which my fans work? Also i have been playing Runescape since September and it has only just started in the past few months. I run Windows XP Professional. Thanks for any help or tips "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
zonda
I would have to say overheating.. yup To make 100% sure it IS overheating, try taking off your computers side case and then playing. This will allow for better air flow. If it still shuts down, it isn't over heating (unless your heat sink is cracked) If it is indeed overheating just run to your local computer store and pick up a few case fans for $5 and throw them in your computer, very very simple  ... runesmithie
I've never tried installing case fans in a laptop myself, actually, I didn't even know it was possible =p I just posted something! ^_^ to the terrorist...er... kirbybeam.
Vape
Don't put your laptop on your lap or on carpet. Infact, try sitting it on a desk ontop of two pencils so it has good air flow. Where the bloody hell are you?

Guess I missed the word laptop. Yup yup, laptops are dence therefore they are more common to problems with overheating. However, you can greatly increase the ariflow if you just set the laptop on two books or something allowing air to go in and around the vents [̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâï] <---- laptop -̢̮â¬Å¡ÃâïÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâï- <---- books or something  ...
