Best place in f2p depends really.. the wild is still really nice, I have no idea about the other places because Ive never tested them, but I can't imagine much better than the wild BTW, if you check my stats you will see I can mine it :o Oh, and about how long it actually takes: That part is sorta random... Sometimes I will get both ores in a world in under 10 seconds, one time it took near 5 minutes (to get both).. Here's a quick tip: When mining, don't leave you current RS window.. if you do, it seems to take a lot longer for some reason [/bads]
