Damn I hate stupid people at my job

Featured Replies

I used to work in a grocery store and I will never do that again. I had to deal with the stupidest and most rude people in the world..

1) A lady who decided she had to use the restroom while shopping came and complained to me (a cashier) that the bathroom was filthy and said I should clean it up. Well, I would definitly do that.. IF IT WAS MY JOB. When she sat there complaining while I rang up her items I wanted to just walk out so bad and say I quit.

2) When I first started it was my job to bag groceries for cashiers and bring in carts when the designated areas got low. So I took in carts as often as I could because it usually got me away from people and I had some time to myself. Well pushing carts isn't the easiest thing in the world. With 2 of us doing it, we could bring in 30+ at a time with a little difficulty but doing it alone we could only bring in stacks of 5 max because they get so hard to control. So a few times when I started I was having trouble bringing in 5 at once and people would stop me to put their cart in the line that I was already (visibly) having trouble with..

3) One night it was late and I had just punched out, taken off my name tag, loosened my tie, undid my top 2 shirt bottons and I was headed out of the backroom and to the front door to go home. Well on my way (looking very unprofessional) a lady stops me asking for something that I didn't have a clue about. So I just told her I was off the clock and she could ask the guy 20 feet down the isle. She got so mad and started complaining about how I worked there and I should be helping her instead of trying to pass my job off to someone else.. All while I wasn't getting paid anymore.

4) When I worked the express lanes as a cashier a lot of people would come through for cigarettes. Well, I don't smoke and I didn't know [cabbage] about brands or what mediums, lights, etc were so people would always get pissed that I couldn't find their cigarettes in a matter of seconds.

5) My boss.. Treated me like a [developmentally delayed]. I had worked there for 2 days and I asked him for help once because I didn't know where a product was that some guy was looking for and he basically said I should know where everything was by then (I had worked 2 hours the first day and 3 the second, both bagging groceries not stocking shelves or anything). Then I became a cashier and their computer system sucked so when ever there was a problem he acted like it was my fault.. After a few months I got fed up with being treated like that and quit.
