I don't like the first one at all... I personally think it is a huge rip off.

The second one is alot better IMO, but still overpriced none the less.

On a side note, I have the same case in the first one. The ATX Case... minei black with red lights. The one they have pictured it butt ugly. I have always been a fan of the X-Blade cases when I first saw them... Now I regret getting the one I have

No, I mean I don't have an x-blade case and I wish I would have bought it instead of the ATX case just because of looks

If that's what Tigerdirect calls Barebones I'd hate to see what a midi-tower is :|

I'm not sure what you're trying to say, but I'm guessing at 'isn't a barebone supposed to be mobo + cpu + ram?'. Either way, I think both of those suck :). The RAM is slow, the CPU is getting out of date and the motherboards are so-so. I'm pretty sure you should be able to get an AMD 3500+, ASUS motherboard and 1GB 400Mhz RAM for less than 550 bucks - as for the case, I don't care about that, normally. But even so, shouldn't about 100 bucks still be enough to get a decent one?

Well, when I browse any local (as in 'located in Sweden') stores, a barebone is usually a small computer with a motherboard included. Not just a standard ATX one, but one that is actually built into the case, and hence is smaller.

Now, I'm sure the word can be used for other things aswell, but the only benefit of buying cases and motherboards as "barebones" would be the smaller size cases. The boxes the original poster mentioned are both standard ATX-size :?
