ok, sorry about multiple threads. 8) but i still got really bad lag, when not running msn or any other program. and my friend that knows a thing or two about java said it shouldnt be using no where near that much..

I am a java programmer, BS in computer science, than you Latech :) anyway I have noticed this ever since i began playing. now the JVM for java handles unlinked items with its garbage collector, but it seems runescape never unlinks any of their data structures and/or processes? You can easily duplicate this using tail recursion :). I have thought about this for a while and that's the only logical reason i can think of: bad programming. sometimes i wish i could see their code and what they were smoking when they made it.
