Berean
Thorvald the Warrior sends you downstairs to fight Koschei the Deathless without any armour or weapons. This is the same condition for going to Entrana and getting into the dungeon to fight the Tree Spirit during the Lost City Quest. Wear Monk Robes and you'll get a prayer bonus and a Holy Symbol would help more. You should also be able to bring an unstrung c'bow and bolts and feathers and assemble them once downstairs so you don't have to try to kick Koschei the Deathless to death. Koschei the Deathless drains most of your prayer as he goes into the fourth for so be ready for this. If you are using Protect from Melee prayer, rings of recoil are useless since you won't get hit at all. Lets see this guy get killed more and more! (Edit: I joined tip.it to provide these tips and so I had no idea screenshots were required. So anyone who can, please verify. )
pokemama
I am intrigued by your info. I myself fought Koschei 16 times (died at the end of the 4th round lol). My question here is - is this what you actually DID in the quest? or just what "You should also be able to" do? cos that makes a difference - Jagex may have a restriction and there's no way to know until/unless someone tries it while doing the quest. Please post exactly what you did successfully during the quest, we welcome this information. (And for me - did you manage to kill him on the 4th round? lol) it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*. Berean
*what you actually DID in the quest?* I did this part last as I pondered just how to go about it without dying, which I am not fond of. During that time I recalled the Entrana/Lost City restrictions and headed to the monastary for Monk's robes and maximum prayer, figuring if the robes weren't allowed there'd be a message - there was not. So wearing Monk's robes and Phoenix Necklace with 4 rings of recoil (1 worn), 12 Prayer pots(4), 3 Guthix Rest Tea(3). 3 sharks and 3 tuna/corn potatoes and a spare Phoenix necklace, down I went to do battle with Combat Style set to Kick (Str exp), my highest combat skill @ lvl 91. I believe I had a super set with me and ran away a little to take doses as soon as Koschei the Deathless appeared. as well as turned on Melee Protection prayer. During the fight I monitored my prayer very closely, not noticing a huge loss until Koschei went into his fourth form. I also consumed 3 doses of Guthix Rest Tea (probably unnecessarily) because I still am unfamiliar with it. At the end, Koschei the Deathless was dead, 14 doses of Prayer potion were used, no food was eaten and the worn Ring of Recoil had not fired once. Please note that I am of a Combat lvl higher than most who will do this quest (114 on P2P worlds and 107 F2P with 76 Prayer - 78 to start from Monastary) That is what I did. Wearing a Holy Symbol and bringing c'bow and bolt parts is what SHOULD work based on Lost City. Gem tips and enchanting runes are also not armor or weapons which I thought of since my original post. The Jagex restriction is identical to that of Entrana/Lost City = No Armor or Weapons. I am told by Law runecrafters that a Glory Amulet is allowed on Entrana , so there's another possibility. So, pokemama, that is the whole of it while it is still fresh in my memory. The 1 mistake I made was not having an inventory space to pick up the sword he dropped and not realizing that until I had gone back up the ladder - Was unable to go down again. Killing Koschei the Deathless was a very personal goal since my RS fiancee had surrendered to him and I HAD to do better than that and I did.
