venomai
Here are my very first attempts at digital airbrushing. Please give c&c so I can improve! I hope to do more of this style (not as much abstract/nebulae brushings, but characters, objects, and especially landscapes). Done in PS7 with a Graphire tablet.. A dragon head! Background not complete yet (I've started drawing an out-of-focus landscape, though). This was my first real attempt at digital painting. Click the image for a sketch (was a very outdated sketch, I swear I've improved!). This was just testing out brushing nebulae. The brush tool was the only tool I used for all 3 pieces, and added some subtle blurring by filters. As you can see, they are in order from least recent to most recent. The last one I attempted to pay a lot more attention to detail and texture, as it will eventually be the base of my next space scene. Best viewed on a dark template. FrothKahn
The painting of the dragon head is pretty good with regards to tone, proportion and what-not, but the texture seems off IMO; it looks more "furry-like" than scaley, that is unless you wanted a furry-dragon lol?? As for the nebulas I actually like the first one more than the other two, however the depth in the third one is quite interesting. Keep practicing and they'll look better I guess. All in all goodwork keep it up! :)
