I was just perusing oceanstides' guide, "...A Skiller's Life", and read this passage about fire runecrafting:

 

Crafting fires nets approximately 30k experience an hour...[at] roughly 100 trips per hour. Loss is CAPPED at 8 million [getting from levels 54 to 91] using this method, including cost of dueling rings, super energies and essence.

 

Two questions:

 

1. Does this still hold true today? This guide was written quite a while ago, and I'm sure price rates have changed, but it is hard for me to figure out exactly what the loss range is. I realized that since I have a little over 8m to spend, this seems perfect for me.

 

2. Would this be a worthwhile investment?

 

 

 

EDIT: I calc'ed out what I think it would cost. I subtracted the sale of fire runes I produced from the cost of rune essence.

 

54-70 (70 is triple fires): 83,659 fire runes made; -1,840,498gp after selling fires

 

70-91 (91 is double natures):737,887 fire runes made; -2,951,548 after selling fires

 

 

 

Sound about right? Please be kind and check my math!

Well...fires don't sell.So I don't think that fire rc is still viable.

Fire runes do sell, it just takes a while. Leaving on the exchange. for a few days, removing and putting back on normally sells quite a lot. (wait queue?)

I only have 65 defense and 70 hitpoints, so....lol. Yes you can die. I also only wear red dragonhide. Is there something better I can wear that won't slow me down too much and will give me good protection?

No idea, I wear nothing (apart from weight-reducing gear and using bull ant for run energy)

 

Just buy some food (cakes/salmon) and eat a few when you bank with low health.
