RayOxide
(yeah i know i probably spelt the title wrong) Anyway, I was making sure I have all combat "Necessities" before I started using my money on well, skills.. and alot of them. So my question is? What do I need to buy? Please dont suggest: Cannon - I dislike them very much. I love my hitpoints >_> Arch/Warrior/etc ring - I use ring of life. I blame my dialup. Fury - This is my last option. I will eventually get one but I dont plan on one yet. Since, everything in slayer is finishable with ease with a simple glory. I already have Proper barrows defence, that being dharok body and legs. - Possibly veracs. But not yet imo, I dont have 60 or 70 prayer, which I will probably get after my spending spree. Dragon boots, Neiti helm/Black mask Obby cape - I know for a fact this cape isnt perfect but I dont want a skillcape til I get the one 99 I want most. 2more side questions: I really hate bandos platearmour, It's expensive and has the same, or less defence as my dharoks, just with a slight strength bonus. I dislike strength bonus' because I find them to be overrated. But, is this right? I have a nice ranged bonus, with my set, being Snake boots, guthix dhide body+coif black dhide legs, rune cbow guthix book and a glory (+ accumulator obviously), is Armadyl ranged set much better in terms of defence and/or range attack? Thanks in advance. Ray. :) I dont need a siggy no moar.
UnknownRemoval
Forget Bandos and keep your Barrow armour. An extra 10.7M to spend on stuffs. Yes Armadyl is slightly better in ranged attack bonuses, but it is the defense bonuses that make it so valuable. RayOxide
Bump. Thanks about that. I never really thought bandos was that big-a-deal. Since everyone that i've seen who has one also has the basic strength narb weapon.. D scim.. I dont need a siggy no moar.

shauneus
armadyl is by far the best range armour an has a great mage def which rules for slayer tasks its also gone down in price so if u have the funds id reccomend it
UnknownRemoval
Ring of Life Glory Dharok Plate/Legs Dragon Boots Obsidian Cape Neitiznot Helm Black Mask Berserker Helm Snakeskin Boots Black D'hide Set Rune C'bow Broad Bolts That's the basic stuff, normally what I end up with for some cheap kills. bedman
You ask advice, but you're basicly saying that you wont take the advice. You've got everything you need except: cannon fury fire cape ranger boots warrior Void ranged Bandos isnt indeed worth the money. All the others stated will be worth it in the end. (ranger boots , void ranged and fury discussable, but they are pretty stable in price). But hey you dont want these, so you've got your question answered yourself. Oh yeah, got enough super sets? I assume you have a rune defender and a bunyip. If you dont have them, get them. R def easy. Bunyip through slayer, itll come faster than you think. A Guide to Chinning in Ape atoll: up to 325kxp/h! RayOxide
Yeah I know i did list off most things people use. Atm im only 57 summoning but im building up enough charms. Gonna calc later on. (are terrorbirds really decent to make?) I guess I'll just blast my money off into crafting. I dont need a siggy no moar. Ray : If you can afford it go for a Fury and a piece of Armadyl armour, if not 2 pieces, if you can afford, especially if you plan on slaying with range. I know you said you don't want to get a Fury but honestly, it should be one of the cornerstones of your combat, along with stuff like Barrows Gloves, Rune Defender, Dragon Boots, etc. And yes terrorbirds are decent to make, since you'll use a lot of them if you do any kind of skilling. Probably way more than you think you will :
meme79
for str trainning use berseker neclace with obby sword, if you have enough defence out of those 3 choices id pick fury, far better defence, more str, more pray  XBL gamertag: SeismicTriangle
RayOxide
Tbh i have 20 terrorbirds and have no idea what the hell to do with them.. Anyway, as soon as I actually get a task thats ..'hard' enough to use a fury I'll get one. I did state I dont think i need the defence bonuses yet with melee - since I leave a task eating food for more space. Oh, and the prayer bonus isnt a big deal since I dont have to use yet. Alrighty, calcing 56-60 prayer by Guilded altar, if its too much then I'ma just calc 76-80 craft. I shalt just get some people from the G.E. to buy me 100 extra battlestaves from the G.E. for me  :twss: Along with the idea of items. Is a DFS really all that needed? I mean - maybe in the long run but.. If I had to save up all that money I'd get some armadyl pieces. Oh, and if I do, the helm then body then legs? Last but not least - Atm if i do some quests I can get addy/rune gloves. But I cant get barrows until i get broadband internet. (MM on dialup is so fail. Wouldnt believe how many times i almost died) But dont these gloves save over a hell-of-a-lot? Apparently they do and I cant check. @Meme, I did buy a berserker necklace and obby sword but chose that it wasnt exactly suitable for the way I train. So I sold. They're not good for slayer so I would rather use a D long than that. And I do have some friends who have SS' who would lend for free. ;) I dont need a siggy no moar. oake
a void range is pretty helpful \ and... check for kent's guide of slayer in the general guides, he wrote there about the items needed for slayer. Oake
RayOxide
Pl0x dont get me on about void range set. They're not good for slayer so I would rather use a D long than that. And I do have some friends who have SS' who would lend for free. ;) First of all, you've got all the basic equipment. Anything you are going to buy now (except for cannon and BUNYIP) will be a huge investment for only a small improvement. Dont expect wonders from a fury or a dfs. However, if you want to optimise your training, and have spare cash, get them. Secondly, no dont get dfs. Since you dont have 10s of spare mills, go with rune defender. I say this cause I see your still low defence. With 85+ defence, any task that can be bunyiped, can be bunyiped just as good with r def as with DFS. You might have to wear guth plate in stead of torso, and have to drink (cheap) super defs, but things like hell hounds and nechs are easily survived just with bunyip. Since you dont have a bunyip or arent high def, the dfs might be pretty useful. However, you arent insanely rich so.. Third: yes barrow gloves protect over a lot. Might check it before you go on dangerous tasks. Still, they are pure ownage, a must get. Last: dont waste money on crafting. Buy your 64 daily staves from Zaff + 600 staves from the GE each day. Then buy water orbs. Since you get staves slowly, just buy a ton of water orbs when they are low (I bought like 20k for 660 each 2 months ago). Craft those staves whenever you feel like it. I got like 180k xp an hour (of actualy crafting) and made over 300k an hour. You need time to gather staves of course. Still, its 66.7k free xp (profit if you buy orbs at right moment) a day. Now please saviour these tips. A Guide to Chinning in Ape atoll: up to 325kxp/h!

The higher the level of varrock armor you're wearing, the more battlestaves per day you can purchase. bedman
Naise and thanks But questions Why water orbs? I have 76 craftin' and want 99 one day. How 64? >_> I can only get 16 lol Cuz they (used to be) much cheaper. Air orbs 1k each, water orbs 660 each. However, water orbs have gotten more expensive. I must admit, lately I've been doing air orbs (at 960-990 each, time your buying right). Gotten 80-90 just on battlestaves, not wasting a single gp. (water orbs were profit, air orbs small loss I think). Do the full achievement diary for 64. Those 64 staves are only 7k each btw, so big profit on that. Also, buy your staves under med, since you can only buy 100 every 4 hours you can afford waiting for it. I used to buy mine for like 8071 to 8271 each. RayOxide
Alright, I'm still having trouble deciding on what to buy. I noticed I dont have a Dragon wc axe but i barely chop at trees anymore, so thats still a kinda no. Hmm. I'm ok with my dhide so I might just buy a fury. ..I dont know! Maybe I'll save up and buy an SS for myself then. :anxious: I dont need a siggy no moar.
