runecrafting double astrals

Recommended Posts

When I get 82 runecrafting I'm considering doing double astrals, I'm wonder about the exp rates for this, an hour, could someone who is experienced in this and has this method quite a bit give me some exp rates and how long a run takes on average?

I prefer ppl who actually know the answer and not just guess something to get their post count up,

thanks,

Well, here's what Zarfot said about it in his runecrafting guide on the RSOF.

D. Astrals

Astral runes are not accessible via the abyss but very fast to craft after you do Lunar Diplomacy. You should have 82+ runecrafting for doubles before you consider crafting these. This is an example of what to wear:

Strongly recommended-

Spottier cape

Amulet of glory (1-4)

Earth staff

Boots of lightness

Optional (high defence level)-

Bearhead

Mind shield

Camo top and bottom

Barrows gloves (Penance gloves if needed)

Ring of dueling

Optional (low defence level, because of Suqahs on the path to the altar)-

Dwarven helm

Crystal shield full

Varrock Armor 3

Black d'hide chaps

Barrows gloves (Penance gloves if needed)

Berserker ring

To craft these, run southeast from the bank on Moonclan island towards the altar. After crafting your ess, use Moonclan group teleport and start again from the bank. Note that after completion of Dream Mentor you do not need to be wearing a Seal of passage to bank on Moonclan island. Doing that is highly recommended since the Seal of passage weighs in quite heavily at 4 kg.

You will need to carry law runes to use Moonclan teleport (note: use the Group verison since it puts you closer to the bank.) You will use two of the astrals you make, but the earth staff will replace the need for earth runes. Remember to bring a super energy (3) with you if you have less than 45% energy at the bank.

When your giant pouch degrades, teleport to Edgeville with your glory and finish banking at Edgeville. Withdraw a mithril pickaxe. Withdraw some more astrals if you banked them already, because after you craft go through the abyss you can cast Moonclan teleport again and bank at Moonclan Island. Note you can also use Moonclan teleport to escape from revenants if necessary. I will assume you will go through the death rift after repairing your pouches.

Moving quickly, you can do an astral rune trip in 60 seconds and a death rune trip in 85 seconds. On average, you will do 53.2 astral runs and 4.8 death runs per hour

Astrals:

The maximum ess per run is 61. However, you need to subtract 1 space for the laws. Also, 1/2 of the time you will lose 1 space for the super energy. You will craft on average 59.5 ess per trip, giving you 3165 ess per hour (27.5k xp) from astrals. Assuming astrals at 150 gp each and pure essence at 150 gp each, you will make 475k from crafting pure ess into astrals. However you will lose 32k worth of super energies (27 of them) and 36k from Moonclan teleports (58 of them at 620 gp each- 2 astrals and 1 law each) Overall you will make 407k per hour from crafting astrals.

Deaths:

The maximum ess per run is 61. Take off 3 spaces for the mithril pickaxe, law runes, and astral runes. Also, 1/2 of the time you will lose 1 space for the super energy, and your giant pouch will always be degraded. You will craft on average 54.5 ess per trip, giving you 2.6k xp per hour from deaths. With pure ess at 155 each and deaths at 300 each, you will make 38k total from crafting pure ess into deaths. You will lose 3 super energies worth 3k for an overall profit of 35k an hour with deaths.

Crafting astrals and going through the death rift when repairing pouches will give you 30.1k xp and +442k cash per hour. Taking off 2% gives a final rate of 29.5k xp and +433k cash per hour.

This guy usually knows what he's talking about, so I'm willing to take his word for it.
