so i am curious on how long an egg takes in the incubator before it hatches

Anywhere from 1-24 hours. Depends on when you put it in in relation to the Runescape internal clock. Check it every couple of hours or so, or just forget about it for a day.

The longest I've had an egg take to hatch was about 12 hours. It's pretty random. I usually leave it in overnight.
