Believe it or not I've never killed these things, lol I know how to get to them, I know I need to wear the face mask... My questions is, I've just discovered the bunyip for healing, (Yes I'm slow, I'm old school) am I able to take that down the hole with me out in the desert? I do want to melee, not range.

Yes you can bring familiars there. You can use a slayer helm too. You need to do the Smoking kills quest to get it though.
