January 12, 200917 yr As I'm (still) a SC noob I was wondering: Is there some logic in the locations of the different class resources? Especially the class 4&5 resources? I assume the spots of the 5 resources are different every game? (I only played 2 times yet) First time I couldnt find a class 5 spot anywhere, the second time only a class 5 swarm, while I had focused on rocks/trees bringing only a class 4 pick axe&axe. Bottomline; I was running far too much looking for the right spots..... :(
January 12, 200917 yr They are pretty random, some games I've had three level 4 clays outside my base and some games they are hard to find. If you are playing for tools, try to get to a level 3 or 4 resource asap. Set up barriers around the clay and the closest creation kiln, make arrows and deposit them in a familiar. I do this every game, and I do not struggle to get 30k+ points a game.

I did use the familiar and arrows class 4 in my second game for about 55k points. I wil try the barriers next game too :) Btw : Is there a map of the SC area? ( I assume only the resources vary every game, not the bases, rifts, mist, etc)

( I assume only the resources vary every game, not the bases, rifts, mist, etc) It is highly possible to have a game where there are no level 5 resources in the near vicinity, but I'm not sure if it is possible to have them completely removed for a game. Also, the rifts and mists change every game as well. ;)
January 12, 200917 yr If you Right-click on the Mystic inside your base, he can tell you how many spots of each type of clay are remaining. This can help you decide what resources you want to look for. Mater of: Theiving...=] "It's better to die standing up then live on your knees."
