in the kings ransom quest, wizard crompty (sp?) mentions that you maybe be able to turn arthur back if you used something that turned you into stone on him. i tried it and, using a ring of stone on arthur will turn him back. (i did it without the granite in my inventory)

No, im sorry, i dont think there was anything diffrent then what would have happened if i used granite. I just dropped my granite on the floor, then used the ring of stone on him, and it went to the cut scene where he came back and i gave him the guard outfit.

but whats the use of turning him with ring of stone?

 

wouldnt that mess up the storyline?

I think from what my quest guide says the ring simply replaces the granite. (it didnt mention the ring, but it did say "Then I read the scroll in front of the statue" which would mean that i still used the scroll, but with ring instead of granite)

 

 

 

the use of it would just be so anyone who already has one wouldn't have to go buy/mine some granite.

No room for error. I have never bought, mined or picked up any granite.

Edit: Been so long can't post images. [garden tool] hum. Got to go resell this ring - 3 million gp? Stick with granite.
