nolothepoet
At this moment ? I have a asus proactive a8n-sli premium mobo, msi rx800 video card,A gig of ocz ram dual, amd 64 anthlon proc,xp 90 thermal right heatsink, panaflow heatsink fan, and a 200gig sata hard drive.along with a dvd rom drive. My motherboard green light comes on,but supposedly it supposed to make beeps, etc However I get no beeps and the pc has been wired according to the motherboard book and it does power up. Although Im not sure if the hard drive boots up. The lights on the keyboard flash as supposed to and the dvd rom I think. I know the dvd rom works. Now I have five case fans, but they don't turn on. I never had case fans in my old pc so Im not sure if there supposed to,but I did plug them to the power source. The cpu and psu fans both turn on as well as the video card fan. Everything seems to work. However this is my first build. Any help ?
magekillr
u got all the pwoer supply cables hooked up? i remember when i first got a P4...and a modular powersupply...i didnt realize that a 4-pinned square cable needed to b plugged in...so everything worked fine...except the processor wasnt being pwoered...so the PC booted..well not booted since it cant boot without it....but all the fans were running.... the m-board light came on....etc....but the monitor stayed black and no beeps came up...plugged that in...presto...worked lol...i felt really stupid afterwords  and surprisingly enough..i think it occurs in all Asus m-boards that use P4's

Bmw
Does your CPU Fan work at all? But you said your keyboard powers up, so power is getting to the motherboard, meaning your CPU fan should be working, meaning it may be just your fans aren't hooked up right, and your hd isnt powering up. I dunno, not enough detail to tell yet. My built computer didn't power up at first either. I unscrewed the mobo, and it worked lol. Turned out I needed to use the white corks that came with the case. Have you done that?
nolothepoet
Mage thanks that was the problem. Sadly I swear the motherboard instruction manual does not point that out. Yes if I look closely at the diagram it shows that the p4 connector from the psu is for the atx12v connector which was something I kept looking at,but I never saw the connector on the psu even though I moved the wires around. But when you said that I went back over every possible wire on the psu and sure enough there was one for that part I been trying to find a connector for. Afterwards powered right up. Thanks. Sorry for the delay on the reply really meant to get that done yesterday.
