Switched to QuickChat?

Logged on to Runescape today, and notice I can't type anything into my chat box. Also noticed that no one was talking. So I log back in and notice I have a message. It says:

 

 

 

"Our system has temporarily switched your account over to QuickChat mode. blah blah blah"

 

 

 

Then I had to verify my date of birth. What's the reason for this? I've been playing since 2003 and have never received a black mark. I have no current offenses. My account is in the green zone.

 

 

 

Is this because someone reported me or something? I haven't done anything recently to warrant me being switched to QuickChat only..

It's because Jagex think you are under 13. This is either because you selected that you were under 13 when you registered (unlikely, as you registered in 2003), or they have some kind of "proof" that you are under 13 (through saying "I'm 12", "Lol I'm actually under 13" or something like that).

Well, I think I jokingly told someone I was 4.. which would be impossible considering when my account was made.

 

 

 

Whatever, this should get cleared up quickly.
