i could never really get the hang of blackjacking. any other advice?

but... u could try pickpocketing the knights in ardy or do peng find to get exp in thieveign (this takes awhile)

Use Pyramid Plunder, it'll be much faster than any other method you try.

I actually did try Blackjacking before 91. Seriously, Plunder beats it to the points.
