when i try to go to a specific website (my clan forum) the page comes up with the usual page cannont be displayed instantly when i click the link.

The problem your experiencing is not client side, it is server side. That URL cannot be found on my PC either. That path that your noticing (res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm) is simply a windows file that is called whenever your browser experiences a DNS error.
