examine player option

Featured Replies

I thought that it would be great if we could each have 25 characters, say, to describe ourselves in the game so people could 'examine' you like you examine npc's and enemies. It would be a lot of fun to examine people.

For example:

examine <>

" A rune merchant" or

"A dragon slayer"

"25 KQ kills"

"A muppet" (which i think will be mine)

Suggestions/comments?

what would you have as your statement?

Best Barrows Chest: guth skirt, dh helm, dh axe, racks, gp (23/08/06); best tt reward: robin, guthix helm, guthix legs, nats, rune legs

Yes we need this so badly because for some reason I examine everything and everyone.

Although it should say what there wearing

or

simply player like the tape of draynor robbery

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

This could be a good idea. But what iff noobs that beg annoy high level people who's examine is "A Very rich player".

well you could simply not have " a very rich player" in your examine. I thought that it would be a more humourous thing or something to indicate what you trade in or something.

Interesting, but of course it needs a filter, or else those flamers will start to write all those words like **** or ****** or even ******* ***.

it would take up so much space on the right click window. . .

it's already crowded to see

trade with *

follow *

for everyone. It would be nice, but is there another way? It's really hard to find people when they are clumped up, and this would make it worse.

I know how. There can be an option in the list of options for "examine player: on/off"

  • Author

yeah i do agree to some extent. Spots are really crowded at places like catherby where there are som many people you cant seem them all, or if any items are dropped. But your suggestion for allowing an option of on/off for examing might be more hassle than its worth for the programmers for just a silly addition.

secondly, regarding flaming, website, swearing stuff etc surely they could just apply the same filter in the examine box that they do for the main text screen.

Well, any further comments/examine box suggestions welcome.

Interesting idea but they would still keep the censor on for this and that could cause it's own problems.

Umm for simple reasons it would be easy to just have 'A player' for everyone, and

ITS ONE LINE EXTRA ITS NOT LIKE IT WILL RUIN THE WAY WE TRADE OR FOLLOW

its just examine then in the bar at the bottem it came up with the info.

ps. does anyone know of a post except this one that has 'came' in??

im gonna take this idea a step further im a lvl 91 but i have alot of other stats that are really good too but im called a noob when training the ones that arent so hot so what if you could right click and examine another player and it pulled up thier stats window like the one you have in the tool box it would help put pkers in thier place when they make fun of you for being a lower lvl than them the they look and see that your mage or something could whip the snot out em it would also be nice to see what others are doing stat wise i know ive seen a few players i wanted to check the stats of but didnt feel lik opening another window to check it out

What about you could choose what skill is displayed. You could have your mining lvl, fishing lvl, skill total, or combat level instead of being forced to show your combat level to everyone. Of course this wouldn't close to the wild.

Saphire, i like ur idea, but about the Pking. there are alot of people who just want to start a fight without checking ur stats, i know its a stupid action but still. When they see they can see ur skill that easy almost everyone would do that. And they Wont start a Fight cuzz They are afraid to loose. And Nobody likes loosing. :D

What if you put ''A Very Poor Person'' (even know your wearing rune)

I've always kind of wanted that. I right click on someone in an empty area, expecting to examine them and I can't lol. *likes the examine button* It would be kinda funny to have an examine button where you could write stuff about you or something that could drive people away like, "Going to the wildy, Follow if you want to die. " Okay that was random. Hehe

''I kinda like the idea but there should be a way to get (diffrent examins)

Say you kill a lot of players in wild you could get deathbringer or you kill a lot of vampires you get vampire slayer and so on like dragon slayer, gladiator, knight, monk, and otheer stuff

Just type it yourself jagex wont put something in unless its relevent or has high demand.

It would be like an ingame sig
