Randox
My laptop has an interesting (to me anyways) problem that happens occasionaly while playing RuneScape. My screen will freeze, and the computer will appear unresponsive for what must be almost a minute. The first time this happened I hit ctrl-alt-del and when the thing started working again it was at the screen where you can select task manager and whatnot (runs on Vista). So I know the CPU's are still running. It also performs the cortesy of closing any internet browsers running. I have also noticed that word documents, while the program in not closed, can not be restored from the task bar and the program must be forcefully terminated with the task manager. Anyways, I installed speedfan today so that I could get temperature readings for a gadet in the sidebar. Speed fan is currently set to display the GPU temperature when minimized (figured since it runs about 12 C hotter than the dual core it was more important to keep an eye on that temp). Lo and behold, I had the screen freeze today. I have observed that my computer generaly starts running the fans when GPU hits 57C. The temperature had been reading 59C for a few minutes before the freeze and I am wondering if it detected a temp of 60C and immediatly rebooted the Graphics, and attempted to close programs that were using the GPU or its memory (or maybe thats a side effect). Before I give the system specs, I am wondering if the problem could be that the fan only responds to the CPU heat, and the GPU hot while the CPU did not, and the fans did not come on hard enough to cool the graphics card. Speedfan is completly unable to provide any data on voltages or fan speed (theres irony for you). Windows Vista Home Premium HP Pavilion dv6500 Notebook PC Intel Core2 Duo CPU T5450 @ 1.66GHz (2CPUs), ~1.7GHz 2GB RAM DirectX 10 NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS 880MB total memory (note that I am almost certain some of this is my 2GB of ram, unless theres a chird RAM chip in there for my graphics to use in addition to intigrated memory) My GPU idle temp seems to be around 52-54 The CPU tends to be around 47 I am wondering if these are even possible symptoms of an overheat. Oh, when the screen comes back it that the video drive (possibly driver) has stopped responding and succesfully recovered. My theory is that it stops responding because its rebooting. OldJoe
Those temps isn't a problem. What's the temps on gpu/cpu while playing RS after a few minutes? You aren't given any sort of error-message when program x closes? Download CCleaner, run temporary files cleaning+registry (this won't help your problems, but you might as well if you've never). Also do a round of scanning with your AV. J'adore aussi le sexe et les snuff moviesJe trouve que ce sont des purs moments de vieJe ne me reconnais plus dans les gensJe suis juste un cas désespérantEt comme personne ne viendra me réclamerJe terminerai comme un objet retrouvé
