How do I get rid of compression artifacts in Camtasia Studio 7?

Your videos look like that when you play them? Are you using 10bit releases with an 8bit build?

It's not nearly as bad as the gifs, but there is a little bit

I'm recording with Camtasia Studio 7. I don't really have any video editing skills, so if any of you know how to get rid of the artifacting, that'd be awesome

Why not just edit the original file to select a specific moment of it?

 

Or take frame-by-frame screenshots and then make them into a gif.

If you want to make a gif out of an episode, open it in a video editor, cut the part you want to make a gif of, then use a video to gif program with the piece you cut.
