i need to pop open the barrel with the liquid stuff in it. my gardening trowel does nothing everytime i use it on the barrel so i cant finish the quest. help please

Have you done everything before that? (Check your quest log)

 

 

 

Also, you click the barrel with your trowel, then use an empty vial on the barrel.

you have to use a trowel from the exam centre, not a gardening trowel
