Combat Skill questions...

I am wondering how the combat skill levels. Everyone tells me something different. What skills level combat skill and how?

 

Secondly, if you get 99 range as your first combat 99 how does that effect leveling combat?

Although I dont know the exact math behind it, it is based on your dominant skill.

 

 

 

For example, if I had 60 Atk, Str, Def and 1 Range, raising range to 40 won't affect my cbt at all, as I am melee based. However, having 90 Range with low melee means that going to 91 Range would affect my Combat Level.

 

 

 

Like I said, I dont know the exact math but Tipit has a Combat Calculator (Check under Special Calcs). You can use that to test out different permutations and combinations. :thumbsup:

I messed around with the calculator real quick and determined that if you have 99 range (and 1 def, prayer, etc., and 10 hp), you will need 75 attack and 74 strength or vice versa to gain another combat level. (I realize with 99 range you won't have 10 hp, but hopefully you get the point: you will need fairly high attack and strength levels to raise combat if your range level is 99.)

 

 

 

Also, attack, strength, defence, hitpoints, magic, prayer, ranged, and summoning are the skills that affect combat level.
