gorofujita
Is it a dell? I think you can just do print screen, and then paste it into something like paint or wtv because print screen copies the image of your screen to the clipboard if im not mistaken. billybob323
I'm not sure what type of laptop you have, but on mine I only need to press [fn]+prnt scrn. Try not pressing ctrl. Then you have to go to something like ms paint or any program where you can paste the screenshot.
Hugger_88
Its an HP Pavilion. and Ive tried just prt scrn and it takes me to my home page, ctrl prt scrn same thing.. fn prt scrn nothing. - 60,023rd to 99 Firemaking on April 29th, 2012 -- 15,152nd to 99 agility on August 21st, 2011 -- 30,569th to 99 Prayer on June 26th, 2011 -- 22,646th to 99 Hunter on Jan 9th, 2011 -1993 Miata; sold - 2001 E46 330i; "totaled" - 2001 E46 325iT; Bags and wheels ;)
billybob323
Mine is an HP Pavilion too. You press [fn]+prnt scrn and it seems to do nothing, you may notice your mouse disappear for a split second as you press the button. It doesn't do anything because the print screen function simply copies your screen to the clipboard, you need to paste it into a program like MS Paint. Hugger_88
thats the thing though, i do that, and I go into paint and and right click paste dosnt show up, and ctrl+v dosnt work. - 60,023rd to 99 Firemaking on April 29th, 2012 -- 15,152nd to 99 agility on August 21st, 2011 -- 30,569th to 99 Prayer on June 26th, 2011 -- 22,646th to 99 Hunter on Jan 9th, 2011 -1993 Miata; sold - 2001 E46 330i; "totaled" - 2001 E46 325iT; Bags and wheels ;)
billybob323
Hmm... I'm not sure what to say then, except maybe check your clipboard (open Run and type "clipbrd[Caution: Executable File]") to make sure it's actually copying. If not, maybe check to see if any other [fn] combinations work. Other than that... I guess make sure you're hitting [fn] and prnt screen at the same time and not one then the other? Hugger_88
how do i make sure its copying? - 60,023rd to 99 Firemaking on April 29th, 2012 -- 15,152nd to 99 agility on August 21st, 2011 -- 30,569th to 99 Prayer on June 26th, 2011 -- 22,646th to 99 Hunter on Jan 9th, 2011 -1993 Miata; sold - 2001 E46 330i; "totaled" - 2001 E46 325iT; Bags and wheels ;)
billybob323
1) Press the [fn] and prnt scrn buttons at the same time 2) Go the start menu 3) Open the Run program; if you use XP it should be right under the Search button, if you use Vista and don't see, just type Run in the search bar and you should find it easy 4) In the Run program, type "clipbrd[Caution: Executable File]" and hit OK 5) This should open up your clipboard which will show what is currently copied, as in what will appear when you hit the paste button If nothing shows up, I can only assume your print screen function is broken somehow. Couldn't help you with that, sorry.
