At 82, double astrals are nice, fact & profitable. I'd be tempted to penguin up to 82 and not do any real crafting until then.

PvP is not for me

Bloods are slow. I have never crafted combo runes.

Most people craft astrals this way: They fill their pouches at the lunar bank, get a stack of laws and wield a staff than has earth runes in it. You then run to the altar, craft and teleport back to the bank with the moonclan teleport. It uses a law and 2 of the astrals you just crafted.

I want to say 2000-2500 astrals an hour (which double to 4-5000 produced). My math might be a little fuzzy. Some people claim higher rates, but I run to the abyss every time my pouch degrades (glory to Edgeville) and make a side trip to the blood altar, so my rates are atypical.

One thing that sours me on blood crafting is the expense in forinthry braces, which I would not use the abyss without.

It's pretty borderline between Smoke/steam runes and ZMI. Smoke and ZMI would be roughly the same in all aspects, but steam runes would not be worth doing. I would say to do smoke runes simply because it allows you to stay on normal magics, and therefore let's you use trollheim teleport for farming, but that's just me.

This is probably the best guide for runecrafting. Gives detailed exp/hr and gp/hr for some of the more common ways to train runecrafting. Note though that Zarfot likes to be precious while playing so he gives detailed information.

Another note is that it does not mention Smoke runes, which are crafted in the same manner (almost) as steam runes, but profit at a price of 5k less rc xp/hr
