Buying a new laptop - confused.

Hey guys, I know you lot get this veeeery often, sorry. I'm buying a laptop and I'm quite confused, I've looked a ton of laptops recently and don't really know what to buy. Can you offer any suggestions as to what laptop would be best for me? A bit of information:

 

- I will be using this laptop for school work, watching movies, listening to music, internet and maybe one or two low-end games (no need for a serious, expensive video card)

 

- I want it to be relatively fast! 4 GB RAM and a good processor is essential.

 

- under £500
