boomer12342
With the new addition to the Polar Bears section of the Penguin Hide and Seek guide, I decided to look over it for accuracy.I assure you my corrections are 100% correct. I've been involved with the group Team Penguin (TP) since it was founded September 2, 2008. My RS Username is "Boomer-One", and though I'm not in-game much anymore due to currently being F2P, I can be contacted anytime via the "Penguin Locations" thread on the RSOF. A few things: Under the table with the polar bear locations, it says: "NOTE: This table is displayed in the order that the locations rotate each week."The polar bears do not appear in this order. We (meaning TP) don't even have a verified pattern yet of the bears. With our current observations, we can tell that the bears follow the current path: From there we have several theories of it's possible paths, none of them fully confirmed yet, but it proves that bears don't follow what your table says. Under "Tips":"The hints that Larry give change every week, as does the location of the penguins."Hints share barriers with Music Barriers (meaning when you walk across a certain square, the music in the music player changes, except with penguins, when they cross certain music barriers, the hint Larry/Chuck gives will change as well). So, clues are never "set in stone" each week, and will change as the penguins move. Penguins aren't tied to hints. The same above applies to this part in the "Tips" section as well:"If a hint says that a penguin is in a certain city or place, be sure to search the surrounding area. Penguins are on the move often and it isn't uncommon to find one far from the hint given." Under "Tips" again:"Larry is there to offer hints, not guidelines. If he says there is a penguin in Lleyta, you don't have to look for that specific penguin."Minor detail, but none of Larry's/Chuck's clues specifically mention Lletya, and in more cases, never reference towns directly. Rather, the clue for Lletya would be about "pointy eared ones". Under "Tips":"If you have sound on, you will hear sounds when you are near a hiding spot."Penguin's sounds are only affected by Ambient Sounds. Also, "hiding spot" is a rather misleading term. Penguins move around and the sounds follow the penguins, and the penguins aren't exactly "hiding". You can only hear the sounds if they're (a guesstimate) 10-15 squares away. Also, I believe it's worth mentioning somewhere that after The Hunt For Red Raktuber quest, Larry is replaced by Chuck the Polar Bear, located east of where Larry normally is in the Polar Bear pen. If you really want proof, you can read the following threads on the RSOF:Penguin Theory 101Clues Clues CluesPenguin StuffGuess the Polar Bear! Or for a (rather out of date) video:How to Penguin Hunt <- I know, I need to make a new one sometime. RuneSlayer.comPsst, try refreshing! Watch the sig!
