During the final battle, I had killed my 10 trolls (before battling the troll king). I ran out of food, so I had to leave. When I got back, I did not have to kill all 10 trolls again and was able to go right to the troll king. You don't have to start over, which is nice.

I've read over step 11 in the quest guide (the relevant section) a few times, but I'm afraid it never states that you have to kill ten more trolls upon reentry should you leave before killing the King. I suppose it's nice to know that you don't have to do it again, but the guide doesn't imply otherwise. :huh:
