October 30, 200520 yr I think that there should be another type of cannon. If you were to call the current cannon by the name of a bow, I would say it would have to be a magic longbow. Slow but very powerfull. To make cannons more popular and more versital I think that they should make a small, fast, multi turret cannon. Imagine a cannon that has 2-4 turrets that spin around and shoot cannonballs that are smaller than the current ones. It hits about 1/2 to 1/3 of what the regular cannon can hit, but it shoots more, faster. This cannon could be used in multi area because it can fire 4 shots at once. Or the 4 turrets could be all on one side (imagine a gun on a battleship) and they all fire at the same time at the same monster. For cannonballs, they could use iron for 1/3 power (of the normal cannon), or steel for 1/2 power. When you put in a bar instead of getting 4 cannonballs back, you would get 8-10. If this is would be too much or too hard then there are variations that you could make. First off, instead of making it a totally different cannon, you could just make the turrets different. Meaning, you would still use the same furnace, base, and stands, but the thing that goes on top would be different. October 30, 200520 yr no.....the cannons we have now are way too powerful, especially on monsters like the KBD; if this was implimented, we would have even more people just sitting around mindlessly hitting huge amounts on creatures with very little effort.
October 30, 200520 yr you've never actually tried to use a cannon on the kbd have you, also, you can't setup cannons in the slayer castle or slayer dungeon

October 30, 200520 yr Sounds like someone's cannon isn't getting them xp as fast as they'd hoped :) The current cannon seems awfully powerful to me. However, I'm could see JAGeX doing this, provided rangers *actually* needed an update, either from not having one in a while or to keep the triangle balanced. lpinkus

October 31, 200520 yr well......I know that the whole game of Runescape usually requires minimal effort while playing it, but when you are attacking something, you at least have to move around (even if you are ranging, most of the time), but with a cannon, you just set it there and click, you don't really have to move around to find prey, etc.

November 1, 200520 yr Author Well I posted this on runevillage and they have come up with some pretty good suggestions as well. Like a whole quest to get it. And making it harder to get the cannon by making it untradable, and making it require 100 bars of the type of cannon you want (mith addy steel). The quest would not involve dwarves but gnomes or elves, so it yould be a totally different cannon. Girst off, I know the cannon breaks because of the KQ, not sure on the KBD, btu i think it's the same, and seconde, the cannon has a max hit of 30, and only hits that like once every 25 shots (I've owned a cannon twice) and on top of all that, the cannon degrades as soon as you've shot 400 cannon balls inless you pick it up and set it back up, nto to mention you get 1 or 2 xp for each damage point, givving you a max xp of 60 per hit.

Are you saying that the current cannons aren't that powerful, or just against certain creatures? It seems to me people are pretty satisfied with them. lpinkus
