RuneScape won't load

Well, this started a few days ago.

 

RuneScape refuses to load completely, I'll progress past the main page, try to access the game, the page will come up, however, the game itself will not load.

 

I've tried updating to the most recent version of Java, and am using the most recent version of Firefox.

 

Anyone got any insight?

What part of the game will it load to? I have heard stories on the tech support on RSC forums where the game freezes at the "loaded defaults"area. Other areas where it freezes up at the 83 % part on interfaces or game updates.

 

Jagex jusggests that the best thing you can do is to:

 

1) Delete the cache folder in your ( normally ) the C drive.

 

2) Use the Runescape Client.

I found that deleting the cache works great, if the game client freezes at Loaded Defaults. It was just a hunch, since months ago no one had any advice, but it worked.

Ah, it refuses to load at the beginning, I'm stuck with a black screen.

 

Anyway, it started working for a day, then AVG found a trojan. Later that day, this problem began again. The first time it stopped working like this, a trojan was found earlier that day. Don't know if this could be playing a part, AVG probably had a false alert and is stopping me from loading RS. It's not the first time it's mistaken something harmless for a trojan. Changed my Anti-virus and I'll edit in what happens later.

 

EDIT: Okay, I'm now using Avria instead of AVG, and RS has loaded. I'm guessing the problem was AVG.
