Barbarian Assault information update

Recommended Posts

Hello,

In the Tip.It Barbarian Assault Guide under Collector it states: Since the blue eggs only stun, a blue instruction is a good time to fill the hopper - then just pick up and destroy the blues you get to save room for red eggs in your pack.

However since the update the blue eggs seems a bit more useful:

Blue penance eggs now reduce the target Penances stats and deal damage.

I didn't see a mention of the Penance Horn so here is what I wrote up:

Penance Horn

You can receive a free Penance Horn from Commander Connad (the same NPC you claim rewards from), if you have level 5 in any role you can receive a free upgrade to Penance master horn. It can be wielded in your shield hand. While wielding it you can right-click and choose call and it will make a sound and swirl icons above your head in roles you have level 5 in.

You can choose to earn XP instead of Penance points by switching the statue in each wave waiting room from points to XP. This will fill up your horn (whether it is in bank or in inventory) with XP potential. This will allow you to earn double XP for firemaking with logs, mining ores or completing agility courses (Werewolf Skullball and Agility Pyramid are exempt). You can check by right-clicking and choosing: Check-potential which states: While equipped, the horn doubles the XP you receive. The amount you can use the horn to gain this XP depends on the activity and your skill level. Your horn is empty.*

*This last sentence will change as you charge / use it.

Thank you,

Vine is waving at me. What? What was that?! It gave me the tendril! :o

A full set of armour (this can be any hat and does not require the trident) recharges prayer at a rate of 3x per minute. This can keep up with rapid restore, but not rapid heal. I just finished using up my first penance master horn, it lasted me 1,250,000 agility experience, or 625,000 bonus experience. It does indeed simply multiply the experience gained x2. I'm going to refill it immediately and will count the number of 1-10 rounds it takes this time in order to answer the all important question "is it effecient?" Although I enjoy Barbarian Assault enough that it wouldn't matter to me :-D. As it happens I have a pair of mining brawlers so I'll se how the horn's bonus works with sc tools and brawlers.

Also while checking if I was getting 2x xp for every obstacle I found an error in the agility guide. Under the advanced gnome course it states that the final "barrier jump" is worth a whopping 630 xp. Seeing as the log balance only offers a minscule 7.5 I opted to try a run without it in order to get to the barrier jump faster. I only got 50 (25 normally, like the other advanced obstacles) as opposed to 1260 (630). This means that the barrier jump only gives 25 xp and the remaining 605 is a lap bonus. I suspect that the final advanced barbarian obstacle is really 15 + 615 but as I do not have 90 agility yet I can't confirm that.

I've been playing BA all day and have done 7 queen runs. I'm certain now that it takes 10 to fill up the master horn but I can't prove this until tommorrow. Assuming 10 is correct, this thing is going to save me a lot of time! Say it takes about 45 minutes for a 1-10 run, then it takes 7 hours and 30 minutes to fill. Say I get 57k xp/h at advanced gnome, and the horn saves me 650k experience, that's about 11 hours 30 minutes of saved agility. That's 4 hours saved per horn, while playing a fun minigame! Even if the games took an hour each you're still saving 30 minutes per horn.
