Jernlov
My USB wireless adapter seems to show signs that it is on its way out. It's a Tenda W311U, which uses the Ralink 2870 chip. It doesn't handle much throughput before lagging me out either, so I think it's time to get a new one. I'm leaning more towards a PCI card, but here is my problem: everyone seems to have a different opinion about each card, and I'm not well-versed enough in networking equipment to make a concrete decision. I'm looking for a draft-N wireless PCI card, preferably under £50. Suggestions for USB adapters are welcomed if you've had experience with them. I've had pretty rough times with Netgear stuff in the past, but I have no idea if they've changed or not nowadays. Recommend away. Thanks. e: I found this one, which has 4 positive reviews and a really great price tag. I'm still open to suggestions if anyone knows anything better, though. Also, this one. I've heard that D-Link is a pretty good brand too. Edited January 30, 2010 by SilverSword Steam | Soup | Last.fm
Quorra
This probably doesn't help, but: I'm using some random $20 USB one and its been working perfectly for like a year now. USB would be easier if you tend to go on different computers, D-Link is pretty good IMO.
Jernlov
I usually just use my desktop, and I've been reading that PCI cards are generally a much better solution for desktop wireless use. I'm not too bothered about the link speed of the card because I don't seem to hit above 135Mbps on my home network. The simplest solution would be to use an ethernet cable... but that's not really possible when you have 4 other people who want to connect to the Internet in a large house! Oh, I forgot to mention that my router is a Netgear DGN2000, if this helps any. Steam | Soup | Last.fm
Kaphias
I bought this one a few months ago as a replacement for my rotten Netgear one, so far I've no issues. I see you put an Edimax down as one you looked at, so if you like that one better I'd go for it as Edimax seems pretty good. I have a D-link router that replaced a Linksys and have had no problems with it, so your second choice would probably be a good one as well. 8,325th to 99 Firemaking 3/9/08 | 44,811th to 99 Cooking 7/16/084,968th to 99 Farming 10/9/09 | Runescaper August 2005-March 2010Tip.it Mod Feb. 2008-Sep. 2008 | Tip.it Crew Sep. 2008-Nov. 2009
