Spec Weapon against Nomad

Okay, I have a typical story. I've died in three attempts against Nomad, but at this point, I know how to handle his attacks and it's mostly an issue of doing enough damage before he runs me into the ground. I feel really confident that I can beat him, I just need everything to fall the right way.

 

My biggest question is this: What should I use as a spec weapon? I currently have SGS, DDS, and Darklight for spec weapons (is Darklight even worth using for the spec? I'd think the drop in defence would be worth it), and SGS restored some health and DDS did a small amount of damage, but nothing too significant.

 

I doubt I'll have too many more questions -- changing around my inventory and equipment a bit should help, but I think I know what to do there. I just don't really know what to use as a spec weapon.

If you can get a BGS, either buy or borrow one, i would use it to spec with. I tried it and do ok with it, but i ended up using a SWH instead as it was able to lower his def even more.

Well, I tried a run with Darklight, and managed to get him down to a tiny sliver before I ran out of brews and subsequently died. I just bought a BGS (I really didn't want to, but I guess that I can resell it and possibly even profit), so if I manage a good spec with that right at the beginning, the fight should be almost cake (not quite cake, as it's not a simple fight, but it shouldn't be bad if I get a good spec right off the bat)

Try a statius war hammer, they are a bit costly though, but you can use them with other solos like in Bandos or something...

First run with a BGS, I hit a 57 first spec, and from there it was relatively easy. Killed him with 10 brews and 4.5 restores left. Now I just have to resell the BGS to get my money back.
