So I saw this post somewhere (I think on another site) that said something along the lines of that a higher range level increases your ability to do something (obviously beside range itself)

So I know higher mage means higher mage defense (right?), so it said something like higher range increases something else, like range defense or attack? Or maybe affects your melee ability?

 

So if anyone could confirm or deny this that'd be great, thanks.

They might have been talking about cannons, where a higher range level means you hit more. Your ranged level affects your ranged accuracy and your ranged max hit. It does nothing for defense or melee.

Some agility shortcuts and areas require a ranged level.
